  • 1.5 cups plain Greek yogurt Adds moisture and a slight tang.
  • 1 egg egg wash Creates a golden finish.
  • to taste everything bagel seasoning Offers a savory crunch and flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Use a spatula to gently fold the ingredients together until they begin to form a cohesive dough.
  • Transfer the dough onto a clean surface dusted with a little flour. Knead it gently for about a minute or two until it becomes smooth.
  • Divide the dough into equal portions, typically around 4 to 6 pieces.
  • Shape each piece of dough into a ball, then use your fingers to create a hole in the center of each ball, forming the classic bagel shape.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Baking

  • Brush each bagel with the egg wash and sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top.
  • Place the bagels onto the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart sufficiently.
  • Bake the bagels for about 20 minutes or until they are golden brown on top.

Notes

Use room-temperature yogurt for easier mixing. Don’t over-knead the dough; just a minute or two is enough. Be generous with the everything bagel seasoning for full flavor.
