  • 2 cups granulated sugar sweetness and structure
  • 4 large eggs, at room temperature moisture and binding
  • 1 cup salted butter, melted richness and moisture
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder chocolate flavor
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour structure
  • 1/4 tsp salt enhances flavor
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional) flavor depth

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and eggs. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add the melted butter to the mixture and stir until well combined.
  • Sprinkle in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold until just combined.
  • If using, add the vanilla extract and fold gently to incorporate.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan, smoothing into an even layer.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 to 30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  • Remove from the oven and cool in the pan for at least 10 to 15 minutes before cutting.

Serving

  • Cut into squares and serve. Enjoy warm, at room temperature, or chilled.

Notes

Use room temperature eggs for better mixing. Ensure butter isn't too hot to avoid cooking the eggs. Store cut brownies in an airtight container for freshness.
