Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x13-inch baking pan by greasing it lightly or lining it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the granulated sugar and melted salted butter. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the eggs to the mixture, whisking until fully blended.
  • Sift in the cocoa powder and flour, then add the salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • If using, add the vanilla extract and fold it in.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.

Baking
