Wet Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups 1 1/2 cups / 9 oz (255 g) fresh blueberries Juicy sweetness
  • 1 tbsp 1 tbsp (8 g) all-purpose flour For tossing the blueberries, prevents sinking
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup (112 g) unsalted butter, melted Moisture and richness
  • 1 cup 1 cup (200 g) granulated white sugar Sweetness
  • 2 large 2 large eggs, at room temperature Binding
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp vanilla Aroma and flavor
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup (122 g) sour cream, at room temperature Tenderness
  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk, at room temperature Moisture

Glaze Ingredients

  • 2 cups 2 cups (260 g) powdered sugar For glaze
  • 2 tbsp 2 tbsp blueberry jam For glaze, added fruitiness
  • 1 tsp 1 tsp vanilla For glaze, aroma and flavor
  • 2-3 tbsp 2-3 tbsp milk For glaze, consistency adjustment

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan lightly.
  • Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cardamom in a bowl.
  • Toss the fresh blueberries with a tablespoon of flour and set aside.
  • In another bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar until well blended.
  • Add eggs one at a time, incorporating fully before adding the next.
  • Pour in the vanilla extract, sour cream, and milk, mixing until just combined.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the floured blueberries into the batter.
  • Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick comes out clean, about 10-12 minutes.
  • Let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • To prepare the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, blueberry jam, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  • Once completely cool, dip or drizzle the glaze over the donuts.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for better mixing. Adjust sugar in the glaze for a lighter flavor. Different fruits or spices can be experimented with for variation. Store the donuts in an airtight container.
