Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) with the racks positioned in the middle.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  • Add the melted butter to the bananas and mix well.
  • Incorporate the granulated sugar and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mixing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chopped walnuts or pecans, if desired.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes.
  • Transfer the banana bread to a wire rack to cool completely.
