Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream for whipped topping
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp sugar for sweetening whipped cream
  • 4 bananas sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafers

Instructions
 

  • Whisk together milk, instant pudding mix, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth. Chill for 5 minutes to thicken.
  • In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Set aside 1/3 for topping.
  • Gently fold the remaining whipped cream into the pudding mixture until fully blended and light.
  • Layer vanilla wafers, pudding mixture, and sliced bananas in a trifle bowl. Repeat layers until the bowl is filled.
  • Add sugar to reserved whipped cream and spread on top of trifle. Garnish with crushed wafers or banana slices.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours before serving.

Notes

Use just-ripe bananas and whole milk for best results. Trifle can be assembled a day in advance and kept chilled until serving.
