Brownie Batter

  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate divided, half melted and half chopped
  • 12 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
  • Chop half of the semi-sweet chocolate and melt it in a microwave-safe bowl using short intervals, stirring until smooth.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar until well mixed.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla extract until light and fluffy.
  • Fold the melted chocolate into the wet mixture until evenly combined.
  • Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold until no dry streaks remain.
  • Fold in the remaining chopped chocolate chunks.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until the edges are set and the center still has a slight jiggle.
  • Cool completely in the pan before slicing and serving.
