Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar and white sugar. Whisk together until well blended.
  • Pour in the melted unsalted butter and stir with a spatula until smoothly incorporated.
  • Beat in the two large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Add the teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix until incorporated.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour and salt to the wet mixture. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  • Once combined, fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans, if using.
  • Prepare your baking pan with parchment paper or greasing. Pour the blondie batter into the prepared pan and spread it out evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are set and the center looks slightly underbaked, about 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove the pan from the oven and allow the blondies to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, ensure the butter is completely melted, use room temperature eggs, and don't overmix after adding flour. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
