Ingredients
  

For the Blueberry Filling

  • 2 sheets frozen puff pastry, thawed provides a flaky, tender base
  • 2 cups blueberries (fresh or frozen) provides juiciness and flavor

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice balances sweetness
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch thickens the blueberry mixture

For the Topping

For the Egg Wash and Icing

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the blueberries with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Stir gently until the blueberries are evenly coated.
  • In another bowl, mix the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Roll out one puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface.

Assembly

  • Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the rolled-out puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Distribute half of the blueberry mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  • Roll the pastry tightly from one side to the other and pinch the edges to seal.
  • Slice the rolled pastry into 1-inch pieces and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Whisk together egg and milk to create an egg wash. Brush over the tops of the rolls.

Baking

  • In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, and cold butter to create a crumb topping.
  • Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
  • In a bowl, sift powdered sugar and whisk in a small amount of milk for icing consistency. Drizzle over cooled rolls.

Notes

Ensure puff pastry is fully thawed before use. You can experiment with adding cinnamon or different fruits for variety.
