  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed for moisture
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract flavor enhancer
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda leavening agent
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Cream Cheese Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened for smooth texture
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Blueberry Mixture

  • 1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries for fruity flavor
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch for thickening
  • 1 tbsp water

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy.
  • Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  • Gradually mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, blend the cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  • In another small bowl, combine the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and water and toss gently.
  • Fold half of the cookie dough into the cream cheese mixture to create a marbled effect.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of the remaining cookie dough onto a prepared baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
  • Make a small indentation in each dough scoop, fill with cream cheese mixture, and top with blueberry mix.
  • Swirl the blueberry mixture gently into the cream cheese filling and cookie dough if desired.
  • Bake in a preheated oven until lightly golden and set around the edges.

Notes

Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet briefly before transferring to a wire rack. These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
