Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, stirring constantly until it turns a golden color and emits a nutty aroma. Set aside to cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches with 3/4 cup granulated sugar, lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Toss gently and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and remaining granulated sugar until well combined.

Mixing

  • Pour the cooled brown butter, whole milk, and vanilla extract into the flour mixture and mix until the batter is smooth and well combined.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish and pour the batter evenly into the bottom.
  • Spoon the macerated peach mixture over the batter without stirring.
  • Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until golden. Test for doneness with a toothpick.

Serving
