Cake Base

  • 1 box Butter Pecan Cake Mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup chopped pecans toasted
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 tsp cinnamon optional

Topping

  • 1 tub whipped frosting buttercream or caramel
  • Butter pecan ice cream optional, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch or Bundt pan.
  • Toast chopped pecans on a baking sheet for 5–7 minutes, until golden and fragrant. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, and oil. Stir until just combined — do not overmix.
  • Fold in toasted pecans, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon (if using).
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 28–33 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the cake cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before frosting.
  • Frost with whipped buttercream or caramel frosting. Sprinkle additional toasted pecans on top if desired.
  • Serve warm with a scoop of butter pecan ice cream for an extra decadent treat.
