Ingredients
  

For the pastry

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry Chilled for better structure
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate Chopped
  • 1 large Egg For egg wash

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about ¼ inch thick.
  • Cut the rolled pastry into squares, approximately 3 to 4 inches in size.

Filling and Sealing

  • Place a small piece of semi-sweet chocolate in the center of each square.
  • Fold each square over to form a triangle and press the edges firmly to seal.
  • Optionally crimp edges with a fork for decoration.

Baking

  • Whisk the egg to create an egg wash and brush it over the tops of the pastries.
  • Arrange the filled pastries on the baking sheet, spaced about an inch apart.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Allow cooling on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

For best results, avoid overfilling and ensure the puff pastry is cold. Consider sprinkling sea salt on top before baking for added flavor.
