Equipment

  • 8×8‑inch baking pan
  • Parchment paper or greased pan
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Whisk or Spoon

Ingredients

Base Batter

  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all‑purpose flour
  • pinch of salt

Topping

  • 5 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Line an 8×8‑inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth and glossy. Stir in the beaten egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  • Gradually add the flour and a pinch of salt, stirring gently until just combined — be careful not to overmix.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the cinnamon‑sugar topping evenly over the batter.
  • Bake for about 22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out mostly clean and the edges are golden. Be careful not to over‑bake.
  • Let the blondies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and slicing into squares.

Notes

Using parchment paper helps pull the bars cleanly out of the pan. Slightly under‑baking keeps the centers chewy. Use high‑quality cinnamon for maximum warmth and flavor.
