Ingredients
  

Blondie Batter

  • 1/2 cup butter melted
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg large, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt a pinch

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • 5 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  • Add in the beaten egg and vanilla extract. Stir until fully combined.
  • Mix in the flour and a pinch of salt until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the batter.
  • Bake for about 22 minutes or until the edges are golden and a tester comes out mostly clean.
  • Let cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

Don’t skip the cinnamon sugar topping — it gives the blondies their signature crunch. For extra flavor, add white chocolate chips or nuts. These blondies freeze beautifully, too!
