Ingredients
  

For the blondies

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (melted) Melt gently to avoid bubbling
  • 1.5 cups light brown sugar (packed) Pack firmly for proper sweetness

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure

For the topping

  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar Sweetener for topping
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon For topping

Preparation

  • Melt the unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl or on the stovetop. Allow to cool slightly.
  • Add the packed light brown sugar to the melted butter and whisk until smooth.
  • Incorporate the eggs one at a time, whisking thoroughly after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract until evenly distributed.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture using a rubber spatula until just combined.
  • Prepare the baking pan by greasing it or lining with parchment paper, and spread the batter evenly in the pan.
  • In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon, then sprinkle on top of the batter.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven and bake until golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  • Cool in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week. For longer storage, refrigerate for up to two weeks, or freeze for up to three months.
