Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Softened, not melted.
  • 3 large eggs Bring to room temperature.
  • 1 cup whole milk Use at room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For aroma.

Filling

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Moist sweetness for filling.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. Whisk until evenly distributed.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
  • Gradually pour in the whole milk and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients using a rubber spatula until just combined.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the brown sugar and additional cinnamon for the filling.

Baking

  • Pour half of the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture over the batter.
  • Top with the remaining batter, spreading gently to cover the filling.
  • Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Notes

Ensure butter is softened but not melted. Avoid overmixing after adding flour for a tender cake. Let the cake cool slightly before slicing.
