Ingredients
  

For the Cookie Dough

  • 1 cup Butter (lightly softened) Ensure it is slightly softened for easy creaming.
  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 large Egg Yolk
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1/4 cup High-Quality Caramel Sauce (plus more for drizzling) Use quality caramel for best flavor.
  • 2 1/2 cups Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Regular salt for mixing.
  • Sea Salt Flakes (optional) For sprinkling on top.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cream together the softened butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl until smooth and light.
  • Incorporate the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla into the creamed mixture until fully combined.
  • Drizzle in the caramel sauce and gently stir to combine.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Baking

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Scoop out spoonfuls of the cookie dough and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown and the centers appear slightly underbaked.
  • Drizzle more caramel sauce over the warm cookies and optionally sprinkle sea salt flakes on top.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
