Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to the recommended temperature.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted unsalted butter with both sugars. Use a whisk to blend until smooth.
  • Add the large egg and egg yolk to the mixture and whisk until creamy.
  • Pour in the vanilla extract, stirring gently to distribute its flavor.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients and gently fold using a spatula until just combined.
  • Fold in the semisweet chocolate chunks.
  • Grease your 9x9-inch baking pan and pour the batter into it, spreading it evenly.

Baking

  • Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake until golden brown on the edges and slightly soft in the center.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
