Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven.
  • In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Mixing

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and fine salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture into the butter-sugar-egg mixture, stirring until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the chopped strawberries.
  • Sprinkle the cornstarch over the strawberries and fold it in.

Baking

  • Spread the batter evenly into your prepared baking pan.
  • Bake the bars until they are lightly golden on top and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Once baked, remove the pan from the oven and allow the bars to cool in the pan.
  • After a few minutes, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serving

  • Once cooled, slice into squares or rectangles.
  • Drizzle with melted white chocolate or dust with powdered sugar for sweetness if desired.
  • Top with whipped cream or stabilized whipped topping for added creaminess.
