Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to a suitable temperature for baking.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and light brown sugar.
  • Pour in the melted unsalted butter over the crumb mixture and mix well until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Firmly press the crumb mixture into the bottom of a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  • Bake the crust in the preheated oven until it’s lightly golden.

Filling Preparation

  • In another bowl, beat together the cream cheese and lime zest until smooth.
  • Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk.
  • Add the egg yolk and key lime juice, mixing until fully blended.

Assembly

  • Carefully pour the filling over the pre-baked crust and spread it evenly.
  • Return the baking dish to the oven and bake until the filling is set and slightly firm to the touch.
  • Allow the bars to cool in the dish before refrigerating them.
  • Once fully cooled, refrigerate the bars for several hours.
  • Dust the bars with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
