Preparation

  • Dissolve the active dry yeast in warm water. Stir gently until the yeast is fully dissolved and wait for 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  • Add white sugar, vegetable oil, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.
  • Gradually add 6 cups of all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients while mixing with a wooden spoon or spatula.
  • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough into a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 to 1.5 hours until doubled in size.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Punch down the risen dough and shape it into rolls, placing them on the baking sheet.
  • Mix everything bagel seasoning ingredients and sprinkle over the shaped dough.
  • Brush the top of the shaped dough with the beaten egg.
  • Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
