Ingredients

Caramel Sauce

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2–1 tsp salt to taste

Cinnamon Apples

  • 3 Granny Smith apples peeled and diced
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/8 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup cinnamon granola

Instructions

  • Make the caramel sauce: In a saucepan, heat sugar and water over medium-low until dissolved. Add butter and boil until golden. Remove from heat, stir in cream, vanilla, and salt. Let cool.
  • Prepare the apples: Peel, dice, and toss apples with lemon juice, nutmeg, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Cook until softened and fragrant. Let cool slightly.
  • Whip the cream: In a chilled bowl, whip cream, powdered sugar, and cinnamon until stiff peaks form.
  • Layer trifles: In jars or cups, layer whipped cream, granola, caramel sauce, and apples.
  • Repeat layers and finish with a final drizzle of caramel on top.
  • Chill for 2–3 hours or more for best flavor. Serve chilled and enjoy!

Notes

Let the apples and caramel cool before layering to prevent melting the cream. Chill jars for a few hours to let the flavors blend. Sprinkle with crushed nuts or toffee for extra crunch.
