Preparation

  • Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs, then set aside.
  • Combine the crushed Oreo cookies with softened cream cheese in a separate mixing bowl and blend thoroughly until a dough-like texture forms.
  • Roll small portions of the mixture into football shapes, about the size of a golf ball, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Chill the shaped truffles in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to firm up.

Coating

  • Melt the dark chocolate melting wafers slowly in the microwave or over a double boiler until smooth.
  • Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, using a fork to allow excess chocolate to drip off.
  • Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • Decorate with green and white sprinkles before the chocolate sets.
  • Let the chocolate-covered truffles sit at room temperature to harden, or refrigerate for a quicker set.

Notes

Store truffles at room temperature for up to two days in an airtight container, or refrigerate for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze prepared truffles for up to three months.
