Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter (or oil) and sugar, stirring until smooth.
  • Add the cocoa powder into the butter and sugar mixture. Mix well.
  • Crack in the two large eggs and pour in the vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth.
  • Gradually add the flour and salt to the mix, stirring gently until well combined.
  • Fold in your choice of add-ins, mixing until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the batter into a greased 8x8-inch baking pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for at least 10-15 minutes before cutting.

Notes

Use high-quality cocoa powder for a richer flavor. Experiment with your favorite add-ins to customize the texture.
