Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until evenly mixed.
  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and scrape down the sides of the bowl.
  • Gradually mix in the dry flour mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture, and mix until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops if necessary.

Baking and Cooling

  • Bake in the preheated oven until lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Cool the cakes in the pans for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Frosting
