Preparation

  • Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture, and beat until well blended.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Allow to cool in the baking dish for 10-15 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  • If desired, frost with your favorite frosting once cooled.
