Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F, and lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  • In another bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract, whisk until combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time to the butter-sugar mixture, whisking well after each addition.
  • Stir in the sourdough discard until just blended.
  • Gradually fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  • Gently fold in the milk to achieve a smooth batter.
  • Finally, fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Notes

Allow the blondies to cool in the pan before cutting for cleaner edges. For extra flavor, consider adding a pinch of espresso powder.
