Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to ensure it’s at the right temperature when your brownies are ready.
  • In your blender or food processor, combine the drained and rinsed black beans, cocoa powder, maple syrup or honey, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
  • Add the baking powder and salt to the mixture and pulse briefly until combined.
  • Pour the batter into a greased or lined baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake until they rise slightly and set at the edges.
  • After baking, let the brownies cool in the pan for easier slicing.
  • Optionally, frost your brownies once they have cooled.
