Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup almond flour or whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup almond butter or peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup dried fruit optional
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease lightly.
  • In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, almond flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt until evenly combined.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, almond butter, applesauce, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and mix gently until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and any optional dried fruit or chopped nuts.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the prepared baking dish. Press firmly into corners.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a rack to cool fully before slicing.

Notes

Use creamy nut butter for best results. Let bars cool completely before slicing for clean edges. Freeze extras to always have a healthy snack on hand.
