Ingredients
  

Cake Batter

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour adds fiber and structure
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce natural sweetness and moisture
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter xylitol-free
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/3 cup shredded carrots adds texture and vitamins
  • 1 egg binds ingredients
  • 2 tbsp honey optional
  • 1/2 cup water adjust consistency

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt unsweetened
  • 2 tbsp peanut butter natural and xylitol-free

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 6-inch cake pan or line with parchment paper.
  • In a bowl, mix peanut butter, applesauce, oil, honey, and egg until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour and baking powder. Add gradually to the wet mixture, alternating with water. Stir gently.
  • Fold in shredded carrots until evenly distributed.
  • Pour into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool cake completely on a wire rack before frosting.
  • For frosting, mix yogurt and peanut butter until smooth. Spread on cooled cake.
  • Decorate with dog treats, banana slices, or a few blueberries. Serve and celebrate!

Notes

Use natural peanut butter and unsweetened yogurt to keep it dog-safe. For smaller pups, slice and freeze extra portions. Swap applesauce with pumpkin puree for variety.
