Preparation

  • Preheat your oven according to your preferred temperature for baking cupcakes.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the softened unsalted butter until light and fluffy.
  • Gradually add in the milk, eggs, and vanilla extract to the creamed butter.
  • Slowly add the dry mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the rainbow sprinkles.
  • Line your muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each one about two-thirds full with the batter.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven until the tops are lightly golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for a few minutes.
  • Transfer the cupcakes to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure your butter is softened to room temperature for easier mixing. Avoid overmixing the batter to ensure a light and fluffy texture. Allow cupcakes to cool before frosting.
