Ingredients

For the trifle

  • 1 pack Jelly (any flavor) Provides sweetness and vibrant color
  • 1 cup Custard powder Thickens the base and adds creaminess
  • 2 cups Milk Provides moisture and creates a smooth custard
  • 1/2 cup Sugar Adds sweetness
  • 1 pack Ladyfinger biscuits or sponge cake Adds structure and texture
  • 1 cup Whipped cream Adds lightness and a creamy finish
  • 1 cup Fresh fruits (e.g., berries, banana) Adds freshness and natural sweetness

Instructions

Preparing the Jelly

  • Begin by preparing the jelly according to package instructions. Dissolve the gelatin powder in boiling water before adding cold water and stirring well to achieve the right consistency. Pour it into a dish and allow to set in the refrigerator until firm.

Making the Custard

  • While the jelly is setting, combine the custard powder with a small amount of milk in a mixing bowl to create a smooth paste before adding the rest of the milk. Heat the mixture slowly, whisking often, until it thickens and becomes creamy. Allow to cool slightly.

Assembling the Trifle

  • Once the jelly has set, cut it into small cubes for layering.
  • Prepare the ladyfinger biscuits or sponge cake. If using ladyfingers, soak them briefly in milk or fruit juice for added flavor.
  • Start layering in a trifle dish or individual glasses: begin with ladyfinger biscuits or sponge cake, followed by jelly cubes, then custard, and finish with whipped cream. Repeat until the dish is full, ending with whipped cream.
  • Top with fresh fruits for added visual appeal and a refreshing touch. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Ensure layers are distinct by waiting for the jelly to fully set before assembly. Use seasonal fruits and avoid over-soaking ladyfingers.
