Instructions
 

Preparation of Graham Cracker Crust

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the finely crushed graham crackers, melted butter, and granulated sugar. Mix until the crackers are thoroughly coated and resemble wet sand.
  • Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish to form the crust.

Preparation of Cream Cheese Layer

  • In a clean mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar and whipped topping, whisking until creamy. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Spread the smooth mixture over the graham cracker crust.

Preparation of Key Lime Layer

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the granulated sugar, fresh key lime juice, melted butter, cornstarch, and beaten egg yolks.
  • Cook while stirring until thickened and creamy, then remove from heat and let cool slightly.
