Mix-ins

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the softened butter and both types of sugar: granulated and brown. Cream these ingredients together using a mixer until smoothly combined.
  • Turn the mixer down to low speed and add in the egg, mixing thoroughly until fully incorporated.
  • Add the pure vanilla extract, salt, and baking soda to the bowl and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour to the wet ingredients. Mix just until combined to avoid overworking.
  • Fold in the broken Kit Kats and white chocolate chips.

Baking

  • Scoop out cookie dough into approximately two-tablespoon-sized balls and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Chill the dough balls in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a second cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  • Space the chilled cookie balls about 2 inches apart on the prepared cookie sheet.
  • Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden around the edges.
  • Optionally, press a few Kit Kat pieces onto the top of the cookies for decoration.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for at least 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

These cookies are perfect alongside coffee or tea, making them a delightful treat. Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days, or freeze for longer storage.
