Ingredients
  

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour sifted
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted and cooled
  • 4 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 cup whole milk room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups buttercream frosting vanilla or chocolate

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line cake pans.
  • Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in one bowl.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk eggs, milk, and vanilla.
  • Slowly combine wet and dry mixtures, then stir in melted butter until smooth.
  • Divide batter into prepared pans and bake 25–30 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool cakes completely before frosting.
  • Apply a thin crumb coat of frosting, chill for 15 minutes, then finish with a smooth outer layer.
  • Add one minimalist detail: a flower, sprinkles, or a drizzle of glaze.

Notes

For variation, try a naked cake, fruit topping, floral accent, or monochrome design. Keep decorations minimal for the best effect.
