Ingredients
  

For the loaf

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Provides structure and texture
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Leavening agent
  • ½ teaspoon salt Enhances flavor
  • 1 large egg, beaten Binds ingredients and adds richness
  • 1 cup milk Adds moisture
  • cup vegetable oil Provides moisture and tenderness

Cinnamon-sugar mixture

  • 1 ⅓ cups white sugar, divided Provides sweetness
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon Adds warmth and flavor

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven and grease your loaf pan.
  • Combine 1 cup of sugar with 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon in a medium bowl and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the remaining ⅓ cup of sugar with the beaten egg, milk, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.

Assembly

  • Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  • Sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the batter and gently swirl it in.
  • Spoon the remaining batter over the cinnamon layer and smooth the top.
  • Sprinkle the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top of the loaf.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Notes

Store at room temperature in an airtight container for up to three days, or refrigerate for a week. It can also be frozen for up to three months. To retain moisture, store correctly and avoid tightly wrapping.
