Ingredients

Base Layer

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs

  • 3.5 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9x13-inch pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy lifting later.
  • In a bowl, mix the yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 2 eggs until a thick dough forms. Spread evenly into the prepared pan.
  • In the same bowl, beat softened cream cheese, 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  • Bake for 35–40 minutes until the edges are golden and the center is slightly jiggly. Let cool completely in the pan for 2–3 hours.

Notes

Let the bars cool completely before slicing to get clean edges. These make great gifts and are perfect for freezing ahead of time.
