Ingredients

Main ingredients

  • 36 pieces Golden Oreos or other crunchy vanilla cream cookies Adds crunch and sweetness
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened Provides creaminess and moisture
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest, plus more for optional garnish Adds bright flavor
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice Juice from 1 1/2 large lemons, brings tartness
  • 18 ounces white chocolate chips Sweetness and a smooth coating
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil Optional, helps with melting chocolate

Instructions

Preparation

  • Begin by finely crushing the Golden Oreos in a mixing bowl until a sandy texture is achieved without large chunks.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest. Use an electric mixer or a spatula to blend until smooth.
  • Add the crushed Oreos to the cream cheese mixture and fold together gently to achieve a dough-like consistency.
  • Pour in the lemon juice and mix until evenly distributed.
  • Scoop a tablespoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball shape. Place each ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to an hour to allow the balls to set.

Coating

  • Melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring frequently to avoid overheating. If using, add coconut oil for a smoother coating.
  • Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate using a fork, allowing excess to drip off before placing it back on the baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle lemon zest on top of the chocolate-coated balls for garnish while the chocolate is still soft.
  • Let the chocolate-coated balls set at room temperature or refrigerate until hardened.

Notes

For best results, soften cream cheese adequately, chill the mixture to make rolling easier, and melt chocolate in short intervals to avoid burning. Garnish right after coating for best adherence.
