Ingredients
  

For the Filling

  • 1.5 cup heavy cream for richness and texture
  • 8 ounce mascarpone cheese at room temperature, for creaminess and flavor
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract for flavor enhancement

For the Layers

  • 1.5 cup strong espresso at room temperature, for deep coffee flavor
  • 1 package lady fingers for structure and texture
  • to taste Cocoa powder for dusting, adds a finishing touch

Preparation

  • Place the heavy cream in a mixing bowl and beat until soft peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and granulated sugar until smooth.
  • Add the vanilla extract to the mascarpone mixture, and gently fold in the whipped cream.
  • Prepare the espresso and allow it to cool to room temperature.

Assembly

  • Dip each lady finger into the espresso briefly, then layer them in a dish.
  • Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the lady fingers.
  • Repeat the dipping and layering process with more lady fingers and the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  • Dust the top with cocoa powder.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

For best results, ensure mascarpone is at room temperature, dip lady fingers quickly, and chill overnight for optimal flavor. Dust cocoa before serving.
