Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Grease a 9x9 baking pan lightly with butter.
  • In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches with granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, cornstarch, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and salt. Stir gently until well coated.
  • Pour the peach mixture into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.

Make the Topping

  • In the same bowl, cream together brown sugar, ½ cup of flour, room-temperature butter, and the remaining teaspoon of cinnamon until a somewhat wet, crumbly texture forms.
  • Add old-fashioned oats to the brown sugar mixture and stir to create a coarse mixture.
