Preparation

  • Start by crushing the Oreo cookies in a mixing bowl until they resemble fine crumbs.
  • Pour in the melted butter and mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
  • Press the cookie and butter mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, beating until fully incorporated and fluffy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until well combined.
  • Fold the pudding mixture into the cream cheese mixture until combined.

Assembly

  • Spoon the filling into the prepared Oreo crust and spread it evenly.
  • Spread the whipped topping over the filling.
  • Garnish the pie with chocolate shavings or additional Oreo crumbs.

Notes

Chill the pie for several hours or overnight to allow it to set properly. Variations include using different pudding flavors or adding fruit layers.
