Pastry and Filling

  • 400 g puff pastry Structure, flakiness
  • 100 g strawberry jam Sweetness, flavor
  • 20 g sugar Sweetness, texture

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to a rectangle about half a centimeter thick.
  • Spread the strawberry jam evenly over the puff pastry rectangle, leaving a half-inch border around the edges.
  • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the pastry into a log shape.
  • Chill the log in the refrigerator for 20 to 30 minutes.
  • Once chilled, cut the log into slices about one centimeter thick.

Baking

  • Arrange the slices cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring space between each piece.
  • Sprinkle sugar evenly over the tops of the sliced pastries.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Use high-quality puff pastry for the best texture and flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container.
