  • In a mixing bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Whisk the yolks together with the granulated sugar until slightly pale and smooth.
  • Incorporate the lemon zest and lemon juice into the egg yolk and sugar mixture.
  • Slowly blend in the melted unsalted butter, stirring until well combined.
  • Gradually add the all-purpose flour while mixing until just combined.

Whipping Egg Whites

  • In another bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
  • Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.

Final Mixing and Baking
