  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment Paper
  • Sharp knife or pizza cutter
  • Pastry Brush
  • Microwave-safe bowl
  • Rolling Pin
  • Wire Rack

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 10 oz puff pastry thawed and cold
  • 1 cup Nutella or to taste

Optional Topping

  • 1 egg whisked, for egg wash
  • powdered sugar for dusting after baking

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 415°F (213°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Roll out your puff pastry on a floured surface until smooth but still cold.
  • Warm Nutella for 15–20 seconds in the microwave to make it easier to spread.
  • Cut pastry into two equal rectangles. Spread Nutella over one rectangle, then place the second piece on top and align edges.
  • Slice the layered pastry into 1.5-inch-wide strips using a sharp knife or pizza cutter.
  • Twist each strip gently and place them on the parchment-lined baking sheet, spaced apart.
  • Brush each twist with whisked egg for a golden finish (optional).
  • Bake for 15–18 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Let cool slightly on a wire rack.
  • Dust with powdered sugar and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

Notes

Use a light hand with Nutella to avoid leaking. Chill twists before baking if your kitchen is warm for best puffing.
