  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar for sweetness
  • 2.25 tsp Active dry yeast to help the dough rise
  • 0.5 cup Warm milk (around 110°F/45°C) to activate the yeast
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter, melted adds moisture and richness
  • 0.25 cup Water contributes to dough consistency
  • 1 large Egg for binding and richness
  • 0.5 tsp Salt enhances flavor

For the filling

  • 0.5 cup Biscoff cookie butter, softened key flavor component
  • 0.5 cup Brown sugar, packed adds sweetness and moisture
  • 2 tsp Ground cinnamon for spiced flavor
  • 2 tbsp Unsalted butter, softened for the filling

For the frosting

  • 4 oz Cream cheese, softened for the frosting
  • 0.25 cup Biscoff cookie butter in the frosting for added flavor
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar sweetens the frosting

Instructions

Preparation

  • Combine the warm milk and active dry yeast in a mixing bowl. Let it sit for about 5 to 10 minutes until frothy.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center.
  • Pour the yeast mixture, melted butter, water, and egg into the well of the dry ingredients. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.

Assembly

  • Punch the risen dough down gently, then roll it out into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
  • For the filling, mix the softened Biscoff cookie butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined. Spread this mixture over the dough.
  • Starting from the short side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log and pinch the seams to seal.
  • Slice the rolled dough into equal pieces, around 1 to 2 inches wide, and place cut-side up in a greased baking dish or lined baking sheet.
  • Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise for 30 to 45 minutes until puffed.

Baking

  • Preheat the oven while the rolls are rising. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
  • While the rolls bake, prepare the frosting by mixing cream cheese, Biscoff cookie butter, and powdered sugar until smooth.
  • Once baked, allow rolling to cool slightly before drizzling or spreading the frosting on top.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing. For best results, allow rolls to cool slightly before frosting and consider refrigerating shaped rolls overnight.
