Instructions
Preparation
- Start by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, whisking them together until well blended and smooth.
- Add the large egg to the butter and sugar mixture, whisking until fully incorporated.
- Mix in the sourdough discard and vanilla extract, stirring until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the salt and baking soda with the all-purpose flour.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Line a baking dish with parchment paper if desired, and spread the cookie dough evenly in the dish.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven until the edges are golden and the center is set.
- Allow them to cool in the baking dish before cutting them into squares for serving.
