  • 2 large eggs binds ingredients together
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract adds depth of flavor
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract optional, adds a nutty taste

Decorative and Color Ingredients

  • 1 unit gel food coloring pink, yellow, green, purple, or any colors of choice adds vibrancy

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then add vanilla and almond extracts.
  • Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Divide the dough, color portions with gel food coloring as desired.
  • Use a cookie scoop to portion out the dough and roll each ball in powdered sugar.
  • Place the dough balls on the baking sheet, spaced apart.

Baking

  • Bake until just set and slightly golden, about 10 minutes. Cool on baking sheet before transferring to wire rack.

Notes

To keep cookies tender, avoid overmixing the dough. Cool completely to maintain texture.
