Candy melts

  • cup green candy melts for color and sweetness
  • cup white candy melts adds a sweet layer and contrast

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by placing a saucepan on the stove over medium heat, adding the butter to it. Allow the butter to melt completely, watching closely.
  • Once the butter has melted, add the marshmallows to the saucepan. Stir consistently until fully melted and combined.
  • After melting, take the saucepan off the heat. Gradually fold in the Rice Krispies® cereal until coated.
  • Prepare a baking dish by lining it with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture into the dish, pressing it down firmly.
  • In a separate microwave-safe bowl, combine the green and white candy melts. Microwave until smooth and melted.
  • Drizzle the melted candy over the Rice Krispie treats and spread evenly.
  • Let the treats cool completely at room temperature before cutting into squares or rectangles.

Notes

Store leftover treats in an airtight container at room temperature. They can also be refrigerated or frozen, although texture may change. Consider adding festive sprinkles for extra color.
