  • ½ cup powdered sugar Sweetens frosting
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Enhances flavor

Instructions

Preparation

  • Warm the milk until it’s comfortably warm but not hot. Stir in the instant yeast and let it sit for a few minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, white sugar, and salt, and mix together.
  • Add the yeast mixture to the flour along with the egg and softened butter. Mix until the dough starts to form.
  • Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and slightly tacky.
  • Place the kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour.
  • Prepare the strawberry filling by chopping the strawberries and mixing with sugar and lemon juice.

Assembly and Baking

  • Once the dough has risen, punch it down, roll it out into a large rectangle, and spread the strawberry filling evenly on top.
  • Roll the dough into a log and slice into equal pieces, about 1 to 1.5 inches thick.
  • Place the rolls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a towel and let them rise for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Bake the rolls for approximately 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let the rolls cool slightly before preparing the frosting.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the frosting ingredients and beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Frost the warm rolls and serve.

Notes

For best results, ensure your milk is warm (not hot) to activate the yeast properly. Use fresh strawberries for the best flavor and avoid overfilling the rolls to prevent them from bursting during baking.
